Very cool, you seem to be able to grasp basic shading techniques and shadow position in the real world. Keep at it!

That's the objective!

The only reason you have so many views is because it's a nude woman.

Plusss its a sick picture maybe? You should probs put away your coloring pencils and low res scanner and get photoshop kiddo.

I don't see the value in photoshop drawing and painting really. Of course you can make brilliant, beautiful paintings, any computer generated image will look vibrant and perfect. I think it takes WAY more talent to actually hold a brush and use the exact pressure and brush strokes, mix the exact colors, and impress what you visualize, into an actual reality, not just some computer screen. Sorry, photoshop isn't art.

JoshSummana responds:

That is not in the slightest way shape or form, true.
Everything is painted freehand and built up nearly the same way I would with something traditional. The only difference is that it is easier to erase/move things on the canvas. Skills regarding the fundamentals such as value, colour, composition etc are completely transferrable between mediums.

Regarding your comment as to the pressure... I do use pressure settings. It is what allows the opacity of each stroke to vary. The only thing that isn't AS good as traditional is probably the mixing of colours. Although this has changed quite dramatically as painting software like PS or Painter has evolved.

If you can replicate it yourself then by all means prove me wrong. But I BET you cannot.

Eppur...si muove.
